Team Goals

 

Although  we all like winning, WINNING AT ALL COSTS WILL NOT BE THE PRIMARY EMPHASIS.  Instead, an emphasis will be directed at developing the player's individual character, physical skills, and knowledge of the game.  We feel confident that this focus will support a winning season.

Our quest is to support the development of each individual while blending the members into a smooth functioning team unit.  The result should be  "a whole greater than the sum of it's parts".

Coaches will successfully apply the 3-Step Method of teaching:

1. TELL
2. SHOW
3. DRILL

Conflicting  coaching ideas, concepts, or techniques will NOT be taught.  All coaches share common beliefs about the coaching of fundamental concepts, therefore, providing a continuous and proper learning environment.

Every effort will be made to keep individual performance statistics for each game played (i.e. batting average, on-base average, runs batted in, errors, strikeoouts, walks, etc.).  One use of this information will be to assist the coaching staff in determining and tailoring practice sessions, and recommending individual areas for improvement and suggesting corrective drills.

Playing time will be based on attendance at practice, focus at practice, pre-game warm up, and listening to coaches and executing their requests.
